Easy Homemade Moisturizer, Sealant and Styling Cream

If your on a healthy hair journey like myself, keeping your hair moisturized and sealed is probably always at the top of your to do list. The next biggest thing is keeping your hair styled and looking amazing. It's easy to walk into your local pharmacy to pick up a hair product or two that you need, but these products are often jam packed with a list of other ingredients that aren't necessary for our hair. If your keen on getting your hands (and kitchen) a little messy, try these homemade recipes for a moisturizer, sealant and styling cream and make your hair super happy!


Moisturizing Hair Spritz

Ingredients:

  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Coconut OIl
  • 1 tbsp Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 2 tbsp Glycerin
  • 2 tbsp Aloe Vera Juice
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • Few Drops Of Your Favorite Essential Oil (optional)

Instructions:

  1. Pour all the ingredients listed above into a spray/spritz bottle.  
  2. Shake the bottle slightly, but not too hard, until the ingredients are thoroughly mixed together.  
  3. Store the bottle in a refrigerator.



Non-Greasy Sealant

Ingredients:

  • 1 tsp Honey
  • 2 tbsp Grapeseed Oil
  • 1/2 cup Unrefined Shea Butter
  • 1/4 cup Aloe Vera Gel

Instructions:

  1. Melt the shea butter by warming over a hot water bath. Do this until the butter is soft but not completely melted. 
  2. Whip the butter with a hand mixer until fluffy.  
  3. Add the grapeseed oil and honey to the shea butter and whip again.  
  4. Finally add the aloe vera gel and whip all the ingredients together on low speed. 
  5. Cover the mixture and store in a dry cool place or refrigerator.


Styling Cream

Ingredients:

  • ½ cup Unrefined Shea Butter
  • ½ cup Your Favorite Creamy Leave-In Conditioner
  • ¼ cup Jojoba Oil
  • Few Drops Of Your Favorite Essential Oil

Instructions:


  1. Melt the shea butter by warming over a hot water bath. Do this until the butter is soft but not completely melted. 
  2. Whip the butter with a hand mixer until fluffy.  
  3. Add the oils to the shea butter and whip again.  
  4. Finally add the leave-in conditioner and whip all the ingredients together on low speed. 
  5. Cover the mixture and store in a dry cool place or refrigerator.
